Care to Learn
The Care to Learn website is designed to help providers and advisers promote the Care to Learn scheme.
Care to Learn provides financial support to teenage parents who want to continue their education, or return to learning, and need help with the cost of childcare and any associated travel. It pays up to £160 a week (£175 in London boroughs) and is paid direct to the childcare provider.
The scheme was rolled out nationally in 2003 with the aim of improving opportunities for teenage parents, decreasing their risk of being NEET (not in employment, education or training) and improving the life chances of their children.
For help or more information about courses, young people can call Connexions on 080 800 13219.
Childcare support is also available for learners over 20. To find out more contact the Careers Advice Service on 0800 100 900.
